Hida Barrel Japanese Oak

Nissin Mokkou, a furniture manufacturer in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, established its barrel division in April 2022. After repealing prototypes for about a year, they began full-scale production in June 2023. Nissin Mokkou has made their first delivery to the ‘Hida Takayama Distillery.’ Since then, deliveries to several other locations have also begun.

A Hida mini barrels was release recently. When the barrel is too small it can age the liquor quickly, and there is a risk of 'barrel overpowering', where the barrel's flavour becomes too strong. The Hida Barrel Mini 11L, not too small nor too large, is designed for early ageing of new pot liquor and ageing of young whiskey, intended for use in bars. It aims for a good balance and original usage.

Enjoy the ageing process with these authentically crafted mini barrels. Please keep in mind that the hoop of this barrel is crafted from iron. As a natural characteristic of iron, it may develop rust over time, especially in humid environments. This is a normal process and adds to the authentic, rustic charm of the barrel.
