atomi feat. Artisanal intelligence

This origin story is codified in the very name of the company. "atomi" is an eponymous creation, combining "a" for Andrew, "mi" for Mitsuko, and the Japanese particle "to" (と), which means "and".

The square logo mark contains a stylised 'at' to represent Andrew Tan; this logo also symbolised a visual representation of the Japanese character 'み' (mi) for Mitsuko.

atomi | the first and last word in japanese design

As we approach our 16th year at Mandarin Gallery, Mitsuko and I have been reflecting on the incredible journey of atomi. What started in a petite boutique on 27 November 2009, born from a passion for "Japanese Designs x Comfortable Lifestyle," has grown in ways we could only have dreamed of.

Now, as we look to the future, we are working on a slew of transformations—an evolution of "the atomi way". We're not just moving forward; we're expanding our universe to create a more holistic and immersive experience.

Thank you for being part of our first 16 years. We invite you to join us as we embark on this exciting new chapter.

Stay tuned for more updates!

With gratitude,
Andrew Tan

The arm of the chair is a beautiful example of Scandinavian design, with an emphasis on fine craftsmanship and exceptional attention to detail. The T-back, created by the crest rail and backrest, is inspired by the ornate chairs of the Chinese Qing Dynasty. The straight legs of the chair pay homage to the iconic shaker design, which is both simple and functional. Altogether, these elements come together to create a truly unique piece of furniture that combines the best of different design philosophies. *Lead time is approximately 3 months upon order confirmation.
