Hiba Wood │ New Year Decoration - Kanou-musubi (Wish-Grating Knot)

This New Year ornament is crafted using natural materials such as riffia and dried rice stalks, arranged around a mizuhiki base and mounted on sapwood from Aomori hiba wood. As an accent, it features a Kanou-musubi(叶結び), an auspicious knot symbolizing the fulfillment of wishes, giving the decoration an elegant and festive touch.

Once the New Year period end, you can remove the ornament and insert the brass piece attached to the back into the hole on the front, transforming it into a wooden board holder for year-round use.
